Week 3 Challenge: Lion

The color for this week’s challenge is a lovely fawn. I have some suede lacing just this color. Wrap bracelet, maybe?

Week 3: Lion

Meanwhile, Week 2’s projects are nearly finished. It takes a long time to do all those wrapped loops with a sore wrist! >.< The large bookribbon is finished, and I’m about halfway through with the small one. Wrap-up post coming soon!

Week 2 Challenge: Ginger Bread

This week’s color inspiration is a warm brown. I have some organza ribbon exactly this color, so I’m thinking a bookribbon or two for this week’s project!

Week 1 Result: Nostalgia Rose

Week 1: Nostalgia Rose

After a distinct lack of inspiration early last week, I finally decided what direction I wanted to take this piece in, and I’m pretty pleased with the result.

Since I decided to go with the terra rosa jasper, I felt that gunmetal-plated findings would complement the greys in the stone perfectly. I used jumprings to create helm chain to hold the focal piece and to separate the stringing wire sections of seed beads, faceted bicones, and terra rosa rounds.

From start to finish:

Hmm, what to choose...
Finally, some good ideas!
Nearly there...

Finished piece!

Week 1 Challenge: Nostalgia Rose

Starting this week, I’m challenging myself to craft one new project a week for the next year. My inspiration will be Pantone’s Color of the Day for that week’s Monday.

Today’s color is Nostalgia Rose, a soft mauve. Not sure what I’ll pick to make yet, so stay tuned! I’ll post updates via Twitter and wrap everything up into a post when the project is finished later this week.

Week 1: Nostalgia Rose

Feel free to kick me if it looks like I start slacking on this! My goal is to keep the creative juices flowing all year long. Wish me luck!
